Abi takes over from Jill as CEO of The Big Exchange

Meet the new CEO of The Big Exchange who already has experience of leading the company as COO.

Jill Jackson to step down from The Big Exchange CEO role

The Big Exchange, the investment platform with a mission to make money count for more, has announced that Jill Jackson is to step down from her role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), having held the position since 2019. She informed the Board of her decision at the end of 2021 to enable her to dedicate more time to her family. Jill will, however, continue to be involved with The Big Exchange, becoming a Non-Executive Director on its Board, meaning the business will continue to benefit from her knowledge, providing continuity.

Former COO Abigail Sater appointed as Interim CEO

The Board has appointed Abigail Sater as Interim CEO, effective 13th April. Jill and Abigail have already been working closely together to ensure a smooth transition.  A significant contributing factor to Abigail’s appointment is her previous position as The Big Exchange’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) before she stepped back to finish her MBA at London Business School in 2021.  Abigail brings a wealth of experience to the position, most recently as COO at Bread Street Capital Partners and having spent over seven years at Aberdeen Standard Investments.

Recruitment for a permanent CEO is ongoing and the Board expects to be in a position to confirm an appointment in due course.

Under Jill’s guidance, the leadership team - alongside The Big Exchange’s partnership network - has built the business over the past three years.  It today offers customers 65 independently rated, positive impact funds, managed by eighteen asset managers at the forefront of sustainable investing. It has also been recognised with various accolades including the ‘Best for Sustainable Investing Award’ by Boring Money for the second year running, as well as achieving a ‘Best Buy’ rating from Ethical Consumer Magazine and the ESG Community award from Investors Chronicle.

I would like to welcome Abigail back to the business. Abigail’s skills and experience, along with her leadership qualities, mean she is well placed to build on The Big Exchange’s strong foundations. The Board and I are immensely grateful to Jill for the hard work and dedication she has given to building The Big Exchange business over the last three years, and look forward to continuing to work with her as a Non-Executive Director.” Campbell Fleming, Chair of The Big Exchange
This has been a really difficult decision to make, but now is the right time for me to step down from my role as The Big Exchange CEO. I would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone at The Big Exchange for what has been an amazing three years. I am immensely proud of the mission driven business that we have built, launched and grown together. I am delighted to be handing over to Abigail, and look forward to continuing to work with everyone at The Big Exchange in my capacity as a Non-Executive Director.”  Jill Jackson, former CEO of The Big Exchange
“I am delighted to be returning to The Big Exchange, an organisation focused on building a new financial system that delivers a positive impact on people, and the planet. I very much look forward to working with Campbell, Jill, the rest of the board and the TBE team together with our community, stakeholders, and partners to continue to build on the success of The Big Exchange.” Abigail Sater, Interim CEO of The Big Exchange
